Gulzhanat Gafu is a postdoctoral scholar at the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education. She holds a PhD degree in Comparative and International Higher Education obtained from UCL Institute of Education in 2019. Her primary research interests are internationalization of higher education and research while her current research projects are in social science research ethics in Central Asian region, sustainable education and graduate skills and competencies. Currently, she is working on an independent research grant on sustainability education in Kazakh universities.

Nurgul Terlikbayeva serves as a Research Assistant at the Graduate School of Education at Nazarbayev University (NUGSE), where she is also pursuing her PhD. She holds an MSc in Educational Leadership from NUGSE and a qualification in Translation Studies from Taraz State University. Her professional journey began as a teacher in public schools across Kazakhstan, after which she transitioned to conducting corporate training courses for employees of both state and private institutions in Astana. Her research interests are diverse and include lifelong learning (adult education), the educational needs of adults, the sociology of education, and migrant education. This multifaceted focus reflects her commitment to advancing understanding and practice in these critical areas of education.

Anara Zhanseitova has been a Research Assistant at CARCEIT since May 3 rd , 2023. She received herbachelor’s in economics at Nazarbayev University (class of 2021) and did her MA in Multilingual Education at NUGSE (class of 2023). Her thesis was on family language policy from the perspective of parental beliefs about multilingualism. As the Research Assistant, Anara helps with the execution of the tasks and actions done in conducting the research, such as preparing the data, analyzing the policy documents, reviewing the literature, and others.
